These are the lowest figures each provider publishes, so the 6 and 12 month totals are a floor, not a quote. They add the install fee, the monthly lease, calibration visits and removal where published. An asterisk means a fee is not published and is not included. Per day rates are counted as 30 days a month.

Reported totals usually run two to three times the published floor. Calibration visits, device protection, data fees and missed-appointment charges are rarely in the headline price.

How the estimate is built

An interlock program has four kinds of charges. The installation fee is paid once at the shop. The lease is a monthly charge for the device, and many providers quote it per day. Calibration is a service visit the state requires on a fixed schedule, usually every 30 or 60 days, and some providers roll it into the lease while others bill each visit. Removal is paid once at the end.

The 6 and 12 month figures add those together using the lowest number each provider publishes. Where a provider does not publish a fee, the estimate leaves it out and says so. Deposits, device protection plans, missed appointment charges and state program fees are not included.

What changes the price

  • Your state may require a camera, GPS or real time reporting, which raises the lease.
  • Program length is set by the court or licensing agency, not the provider.
  • Some states run indigent or reduced fee programs. Ask the provider and your monitoring authority.
  • Shops set their own installation and removal labor charges within the range the provider allows.
